About the role

We help globally recognised brands deliver groundbreaking digital experiences to their customers. Merapar by alfa1's founding members come from leading media and TV companies and we are growing fast. TV is our first love, but we are rapidly expanding into new areas including IoT (Internet of Things), Data Management and Analytics.

As a Lead Software Developer you will work with our clients and development teams to deliver innovative software in an Agile environment. You will help shape the projects of our clients and the fabric of our company during this exciting and dynamic phase in our journey. Guide and lead a development team in the technical area (Coaching, Code review, Architectural guidelines, …)
Work with our European colleagues in project implementation.
Define and develop microservices and cloud-based systems in close relationship with our clients.
Design and implement features in an agile development environment while interacting with the clients.
Be responsible for the correct execution of functional and non-functional test cases/test procedures.

About You

A Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering or a Computing related subject.
Experience as a software developer in an agile environment using multiple languages (e.g. Java, Go, JS, Python, Kotlin, Swift, C#).
Knowledge and some experience of cloud development, preferably AWS.
Knowledge and some experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery, Test Driven Development, Behaviour Driven Development.
An ability to propose suggestions for improvement, identify and solve problems.
An open-mind and a natural curiosity for new technologies and continuous learning.
Excellent knowledge of German and English with first-rate verbal and written communication skills.
An understanding of security, scalability and resilience.
Experience in leading and mentoring junior team members is desirable.

Location

This is a full time position based in Germany. You should be able to work from home in Germany but be prepared to travel to the client’s premises if required
Occasional travel to our other offices within Europe is also likely to be needed
